And it's not _that_ rare to find him behind the Fast Travel station. I loaded a character 10 times (in TVHM) the other day, and Lee was back there 3 times. An hour of farming is just the tip of the iceberg really. Some items you can farm for days with no luck. You're better off doing the bar brawl for torgue tokens as it'll land you more XP. Farming Savage Lee is an inexact science that doesn't guarantee you anything and can literally waste hours.

It also applies to guns and other gear. There are a lot more viable guns and combinations to use them. The UVHM vanilla grind the same gear to replace your gear that is a lot less grindy.
